TRAINING: YOGA FOR TRAUMA
April 24th to 26th, Barcelona

In this 20 hour training we will:
– Gain an understanding of the different types of trauma and its effects on the body and mind.
– Learn the tools and techniques that make a yoga, breath and mindfulness practice “trauma informed”, respecting the needs and issues of trauma.
– Understand what yoga as complementary therapy is and how to apply it.
– Learn how to use the tools and techniques of empathy and compassion so that sharing trauma informed yoga can be a mutually beneficial exchange.
The course will be taught by Maria Macaya – founder and president of Fundacion Radika. María has been practicing yoga for twenty years. She is an advanced certified 800 hour Jivamukti teacher where she also trains and mentors teachers. Maria is also certified with teachers in the US and the UK in yoga as complementary therapy for trauma, depression, anxiety and addiction. She has already offered this training in the past, most recently in Cambodia, where trauma is very prevalent.
This 20 hour training is the first in a series of trainings that will be offered by Radika and is open to yoga teachers, therapists and anyone interested in how to adapt movement based practices for people with trauma and other mental disorders and distress. Yoga teachers interested in working with Radika – may apply once the training is completed.

Friday: 5 pm to 8:30 pm.
Saturday and Sunday: 9 am to 1 pm and 2:30 pm to 6:45 pm.
